DB meta for patch 1.041: Tiltkreise Element Focus Thunder stacks Critical Element + Thunder Attack + Master's Touch in the weapon slots; 4pc Gogmazios fires Mutual Hostility II in rage. The Sororal α head closes 2pc Gore Tyranny via weapon-as-piece, inflicting Frenzy on large monsters; Antivirus 3 turns the cure into +25% affinity, exploiting the proc rather than enduring it. The edge: a higher elemental DPS ceiling in rage (Mutual Hostility II + Agitator 5 + Max Might 3), at the cost of WEX 3 — the [3] slots go to Agitator. Editorial call: rage-sync > wound-window for elemental burst.
How to play
Overview
DB Element Focus Thunder for patch 1.041, built on Tiltkreise (Gogma Artian) with Gore Magala's Tyranny (Frenzy) + Lord's Soul (future-proof, dormant on this armor) rolled in. An elemental rage-sync build — peak DPS climbs as Mutual Hostility II + Agitator 5 line up in the rage window.
What sets it apart from a traditional DB: rage-sync > wound-window. The [3] slots go to Agitator 5 cap instead of Tenderizer Jewels — WEX is charged at level 3, sub-cap, to preserve the thesis.
Core rotation
The loop is the Demon Mode → Archdemon Mode chain, to sustain combos without stamina drain:
- Pre-engage setup. Enter Demon before the first hit to apply Agitator/MM stacks at max affinity.
- Chaining. Circle Slash × 3 → Lunging Strike → Sixfold Demon Slash → Blade Dance (5 hits in ~2s, triggers Burst 3 active).
- Sustain. Drop into Archdemon between commits to recover stamina without losing pressure.
Master's Touch 1 cap prevents sharpness loss on crits — on DB, with its high hitrate, sharpness longevity is critical and this slot isn't negotiable.
Structural thesis — weapon-as-piece + rage-sync
Tiltkreise Gogma Artian counts as a piece toward set/group-bonus thresholds. With Sororal α head + 4pc Gogmazios + weapon:
- Gore 2pc (Sororal head + weapon) →
Black Eclipse I(forced Frenzy on large monsters). - Gogmapocalypse 4pc (Gogmazios mail + vambraces + coil + greaves) →
Mutual Hostility IIin rage. - Lord's Soul rolled but dormant — only 1 piece carries the marker (the weapon itself). A future-proof call: if the hunter migrates to Arkvulcan γ armor (5/5 carry the Lord's Soul marker), the weapon is already set and Guts/Tenacity activates comfortably.
The roll pool is universal — any Gogma Artian rolls any set or group skill except Festival Spirit, Prayers and Master of the Fist. RNG is seeded by the base element. Tiltkreise Thunder is canonical for generalism (AT Arkveld + AT Nu Udra are thunder-weak); for AT Jin Dahaad (fire-weak) or AT Gogmazios (dragon-weak), switch the element.
Reinforcement — 2× Element EX + 2× Attack EX + 1× Sharpness I
Tiltkreise is non-elemental in the schema at base, but Gogma Element Focus turns it into an elemental weapon. The canonical combination respects maxPerBonusType: 2.
RNG fallback: 2× Element III + 2× Attack III + 1× Sharpness I (loses ~8-12% DPS ceiling, closes more easily).
Active set/group bonuses
- Gore Tyranny 2pc (Sororal head + weapon). Forced Frenzy at the start of combat — the literal effect: "Infects you with Frenzy when against large monsters."
- Gogmapocalypse 4pc (4× Gogmazios α).
Mutual Hostility IIduring the monster's rage: elemental attack increases + a damage barrier reactivates after a cooldown. The damage barrier absorbs 1-2 hits before breaking — extra i-frames to sustain pressure during committing animations.
Native skills and the Frenzy → burst cycle
Antivirus 3 (3× sane-jewel-1 in [1] slots) — converts the Gore Frenzy into an offensive burst. The literal skill description: "makes it easier to overcome Frenzy and increases affinity if cured." The exact affinity bonus value isn't officially published in Wilds; the practical cycle works regardless of the exact number. On DB, the high hitrate sustains recycling of the window through combos.
Counterstrike 2 (2× counter-jewel-2) — not capped. Capping would need a +1 [2] slot that's contested with MM and Stamina Surge. CS2 still gives a post-knockback buff, just not as large as the cap.
Constitution 3 (3× physique-jewel-1) + Stamina Surge 1 (refresh-jewel-2) — Demon Mode management. Stamina drain is aggressive; Constitution 3 cuts the cost of evades/actions and SS1 speeds recovery. Not capped, but they mitigate without occupying priority slots.
Maximum Might 3 exact cap (vambraces α +2 + mighty jewel +1) + Critical Element 3 on crits + Thunder Attack 3 on the weapon.
Peak window — rage alignment
In the rage window these line up: Mutual Hostility II (elem boost + damage barrier) + Agitator 5 (+28 raw + 15% aff) + Max Might 3 (+10% aff at full stamina) + Antivirus cured (+aff Frenzy stack) + Critical Element 3 on crits. It's where DB overtakes the raw of much higher-damage weapons.
Editorial rationale: Agitator 5 activates right in the rage window where Mutual Hostility II also activates — doubling the value of that peak, with sub-cap WEX 3 composing the off-peak base.
Trade-off — sub-cap WEX 3
The build gives up WEX 0→3 (not capped 5) to preserve Agitator 5 cap in the [3] slots (3× challenger-jewel-3 in head + chest + legs). Closing WEX 5 would require displacing 2× of the challenger jewels and reopening Agitator, breaking the rage-sync thesis.
WEX 3 = +30% affinity on wounds vs 0% before — continuous uptime on wounds adds to the peak stack.
Charm — Exploiter III default
Exploiter Charm III (WEX +3) is the canonical charm. This build's armor has no native WEX, so Exploiter III delivers WEX 3 directly — exactly the sub-cap the rage-sync thesis accepts. The weapon slots [3,3,3] go to crit-elem-jwl-iii-3 + bolt-jewel-iii-3 (or the element's equivalent) + mastery-jewel-3, sustaining the 3 elemental offensive layers without competing with Agitator in the armor's [3] slots.
Closing the WEX 5 cap would require swapping Exploiter III for a Tenderizer charm + reallocating 2 armor [3] slots to tenderizer-jewel-3 — which would collapse the build's thesis (Agitator 5 broken). Sub-cap WEX 3 is a deliberate decision.
Matchups
- AT Arkveld (thunder-weak). Dream matchup. Thunder Attack 3 + Critical Element 3 + Mutual Hostility II + clear hitzones for WEX 3.
- AT Nu Udra (thunder-weak). Good — same offensive stack.
- AT Gogmazios (dragon-weak). Switch to Tiltkreise Dragon + dragon jewels on the weapon.
- AT Jin Dahaad (fire-weak). Tiltkreise Thunder loses significantly. Consider Tiltkreise Fire or another weapon for this target.
Team synergies
- HH with Elemental Attack Up XL. Scales DB more than any other weapon kind — the high hitrate amplifies the elemental buff.
- GS/LS with Lord's Soul Guts active. Makes up for this build's zero sustain — another player tanks aggro and the DB stays free in Archdemon.
- Avoid 2× DB. Competition for wound generation.
Farm path
- Tiltkreise (Thunder element, canonical for AT Arkveld/Nu Udra generalism) with Gore Tyranny + Lord's Soul + 2× Element EX + 2× Attack EX + 1× Sharpness I via Gogma re-roll.
- Gogmazios α 4pc (mail + vambraces + coil + greaves) via AT Gogmazios hunts.
- Sororal α head via Gore Magala.
- Exploiter Charm III standard crafting post-HR100.
- Decorations. 3× sane-jewel-1, 3× challenger-jewel-3, 3× physique-jewel-1, 2× counter-jewel-2, 1× refresh-jewel-2, 1× mighty-jewel-2, 1× crit-elem-jwl-iii-3, 1× bolt-jewel-iii-3 (or the element's), 1× mastery-jewel-3.
Target profile
A generalist endgame AT pick for patch 1.041 with an elemental bias — AT Arkveld and AT Nu Udra are the dream (thunder), AT Gogmazios via a swap to Dragon, AT Jin Dahaad out of scope (consider an alternative weapon).
