G. Rathalos Helm β
- Weakness Exploit1/5
- Rathalos's Flare
- Guardian's Protection
This weapon is Gogma Artian: it has 1 set bonus and 1 group skill, and counts as +1 piece in both pools at once.
Copies this weapon's Gogma roll as a starting point. Fine-tune it in your inventory.
Reduces health but increases affinity and weapon performance while equipped. Successive attacks on monsters further raise your attack power and affinity.
Generalist SnS meta for patch 1.041 via Kyrie Verd (Gogma Artian Attack Focus). Weapon-as-piece unlocks 4 concurrent set/group bonuses — including Black Eclipse I, which normally needs a dedicated 2pc. What sets it apart from a traditional SnS: it exploits a density of converging bonuses instead of stacking raw stats from a single armor family.
SnS Attack Focus for patch 1.041, built on Kyrie Verd (Gogma Artian) with Gore Magala's Tyranny (Frenzy) + Lord's Soul (Guts/Tenacity) rolled in. A generalist endgame AT build with 4 concurrent set/group bonuses active — Rathalos's Flare + Jin Dahaad's Revolt + Black Eclipse I + Lord's Soul.
What sets it apart from a traditional SnS: it exploits a density of converging bonuses instead of stacking raw stats from a single armor family.
The loop is Perfect Rush spam on wounds + Perfect Guard as an active rotation, not a reaction:
Power Clash.Jin Dahaad's Revolt 2pc (+25 raw for ~60s).Focus Mode is mandatory for aiming at wounds: WEX 5 + CB 3 + Master's Touch 1 (sharpness preserved on crits — with crit rate at peak ≈100%, sharpness becomes effectively infinite).
Kyrie Verd Gogma Artian counts as a piece toward set/group-bonus thresholds. On the paper doll the armor has only 1pc Gore (greaves β) + 2pc Dahaad γ (mail + coil) + 2pc G. Rathalos β (helm + vambraces) — without weapon-as-piece, 2pc Gore wouldn't close and Lord's Soul would fall below the threshold of 3.
With weapon-as-piece:
Black Eclipse I (forced Frenzy). The roll pool is universal — any Gogma Artian rolls any set or group skill except Festival Spirit, Prayers and Master of the Fist. RNG is seeded by the base element. SnS Attack Focus is pure raw, so the element sleeps — the element choice follows farm preference (whichever element drops more easily from AT Gogmazios).
Peak affinity calculation for this set (-10 base + 50 WEX + 30 MM + 15 Agitator = +85% peak, with 15pp of headroom to the 100% cap): the set doesn't saturate. Extra Aff EX keeps its full value off-peak, while a raw-heavy alternative loses sustained DPS once weighted between peak (40%) and off-peak (60%) windows.
Canonical principle: the reinforcement pattern is a function of the set, not a universal rule. Calculate peak affinity before choosing between Attack-heavy and Affinity-heavy.
RNG fallback: if EX won't roll, swap in an extra III (same layout: 2× each + 1 Sharpness I). DPS drops ~8-12% at the ceiling, but the build stays functional.
Exploiter Charm III (WEX +3) delivers the WEX 5 cap directly (2 base + 3 charm) without Tenderizer Jewels occupying [3] slots. It frees the weapon's 3 [3] slots for Critical III (CB 3) + Attack III (AB 3) + Mastery (MT 1), and the Gore Greaves β [3] for a Flayer Jewel (Flayer 3).
Optional upgrade via a Golden Age Charm (Appraised RNG, Melding Pot or HR100+ drop):
Don't farm the RNG before closing the rest.
Guts (Lord's Soul 3pc) — survive one lethal hit. With Guts active, SnS can run an aggressive full-combo Perfect Rush without fearing a one-shot in rage windows — especially vs AT Arkveld (long tail-slam + aerial sequences).
Antivirus 3 speeds up curing the forced Black Eclipse Frenzy — after the cure, +25% aff for ~30s enters the stack.
Super-peak window (mantle stacked + freshly-cured Frenzy + rage + wound + full stamina): theoretical affinity pushes to +135%, capped at 100%. In that transient 30-60s window per hunt, open a full-commit Perfect Rush and use Guts as a safety net for the cash-out.
Corrupted Mantle (90s duration / 600s cd / +5%→+30% aff stacked / +~4.5% raw post-buff) is the ideal mantle. The high hitrate sustains the stacks comfortably; the HP drain is offset by the weapon's natural aggression. The mantle doesn't occupy a composition slot — a pure +1.95pp sustained gain at no cost.
Tool Specialist 5 rejected. A TS5 cap consumes 100% of the [2]-slot budget (5× Maintenance Jewel), sacrificing MM3 (+7.7pp) + Counterstrike 2 (+2-3pp). Net trade-off: -8.7pp sustained DPS to swap MM3+CS2 for TS5. The discrepancy with informal feedback ("felt like the same damage in 1 hunt") is natural variance — you need 10+ paired hunts to separate signal.
Ideal party: 1× SnS + 1× HH buffer + 1× Lance/GL tank + 1× flexible damage dealer (LS/GS/DB).
A generalist endgame AT pick for patch 1.041 — AT Gogmazios and AT Jin Dahaad are the dream, AT Arkveld is good, AT Nu Udra a fallback. Elemental variants are archived as target-specific for extensive farming of fire-resistant monsters.
